6 highlighters that will change your life!
So firstly I just want to say sorry that there wasn't a post earlier this week, I just couldn't find the time to sit down and write, however hopefully this post will make up for that because wait for it... today I am going to talk you through all the highlighters that changed my life (ok my makeup game, but also my life ok!) and they will for sure change yours too. Now it's no surprise to anyone that I love a good BLINDING glow, I honestly think it makes a makeup look so much better. I love learning all about new highlighters or just genuine beauty finds from other people so I thought I would write this post for anyone that is like me or someone who is looking to invest in a new highlighter (or 6) and maybe help you out with that.
So the first highlighter product is actually one of the newest editions to my makeup collection and it is the 'Ofra Fellin' Myself Highlighter Palette'. I saw this on beauty bay a few days ago and decided it would be perfect to add to my makeup collection because I have tried Ofra highlighters before and loved them and let me just tell you, this is no exception. Who doesn't want 3 stunning highlighters in a travel size palette? I mean we all love a glow 24/7 right? so travelling is no exception. In this palette, you get the highlighters , 'blissful' which is a rose gold shade, 'pillow talk' which is a soft pearl shade and finally the all famous 'rodeo drive' which is, of course, a golden shade. I honestly adore this palette, I think it is such a steal and is perfect as I said for either travelling or even if you just want to try the highlighters out. The palette costs £25 which I honestly don't think is bad at all for three mini highlighters, especially considering the quality and the pigmentation of these shades.
Next up on the list is that 'Anastasia Ultimate Glow Kit'. Now I have personally had this palette for a really long time, I remember being soooo excited to buy this palette when I went to New York for the first time and I have loved it ever since. This palette is actually still sold out on beauty bay at the minute which just shows that after all this time it is still a favourite. It is a very golden toned highlighting palette which consists of 6 shades: snow, white sand, golden dawn, sunray, amber gold and hot sand, What I find so interesting about the palette, looking at it I wouldn't personally think it would look good on every skin tone (mine included because i’m really pale), however it does state that this shade range is 'universally flattering' which is actually true, when you swatch the highlighters, they are really sparkly and glowy rather than really intense colour, which I think is great. If you can manage to get your hands on this palette anytime soon, I would definitely invest in it if you love a really pretty glow, it costs £47.
Now enough of the Boujee makeup brands (although I love them just as much), now onto some drugstore glows that can give the glow kit a run for its money. Now, this product is one I have talked about in my previous post 'one brand review: makeup revolution' (which is linked if you would like to give it a read), and it is the 'Makeup Revolution face quad incandescent'. Now my opinions from my last post have not changed on this palette!! It is absolutely stunning, it's brightening, it's glowy and blinding and not at all chalky or cakey, and it's £10. Honestly, everything about this product is amazing, just looking at it it looks so expensive and you can tell it is a really great quality product. For more information on the shades in the palette go over and check out that previous post because I rambled on about this highlighter quad a lot over there (I don't want to ramble on again...there would be no stopping me). Honestly, this product is so worth the money and is so underrated in my personal opinion.
Now going from high-end to the drug store to just an absolute bargain, this again is another product that I have talked about in a recent post (i know I'm sorry) and it is the 'Primark Brunch Club Highlighter'. Now, where do I even start with this highlighter!! firstly, it is so pigmented and pretty. It is Blinding like sunglasses are needed when it is layered (exactly what we love to hear right?). It is also hands down a dupe for the kylie cosmetics highlighters in every way, and don't get me wrong at all I adore Kylie Products, but this product is so cheap compared to the Kylie version, and I am here for that. As I said in my Primark post, you can’t actually buy their products online and I believe that these highlighters were selling out pretty fast in stores (no surprise there) so if you do get a chance to grab one I certainly would take it, this product costs £2.50.
Now the fifth option of glow comes from Too Faced, and it is the 'love light prismatic highlighter'. Now before I even get started on the product, the name of this even sounds magical and let me just add that the packaging doesn't let you down either. Now for the main event, the highlighter. When I first purchased and swatched this highlighter I wasn't amazed or blown away by it, if I'm being completely honest... However now looking back, I have no idea how or why. This is a product that I personally think is tailored and suited to anyone and everyone, no matter if you want a subtle glow from within type look or want to look like you have literally got a disco ball attached to your nose (always a goal for me though), it is one of the products you can build up and create your perfect glow. Another really amazing aspect of this product is the consistency of the product, on the website it states that it combines the finishes of powder, liquid, baked and cream to create a light-reflecting finish... I know sounds magical right? I believe there are 3 shades to this product, I personally own 'blinded by the light' (love the name too) and it cost £30. Would definitely recommend if you want to create your own amount of shine.
Finally, If there is one brand I genuinely believe have got highlighters down, it has got to be Becca. I love Becca highlighters, no matter what shade or formula, I am always here for their pigmentation and just overall glow!! Obviously 'champagne pop' was and still is such a loved product in terms of highlighters and just makeup products in general, and it stood alone up there as my favourite for a long time. However I really started to fall in love with Becca highlighters when I tried 'Moonstone', and I loved that just as much. They both are still go-to's for me to this day. Both highlighters are amazing in terms of their formula and pigmentation, and they really blend seamlessly and don't sit on top of the skin at all. These highlighters cost £30 each, however, they do also do mini's which I believe are £15 each.
So that's it for this post, I genuinely love highlighter and also learning about what different people use to create their glow so I hope you have enjoyed learning about mine and what I use. If you have tried or use any of this product I would love to know your thoughts on them, also if you have any other recommendations I would love to know them. You can either leave them in the comments or send them to me over on my Instagram or twitter which I will link below. I have also linked all of the highlighters over on my 21 buttons account, which I will also link below.
