Favourite Eyeshadow Palettes!!

Hey everyone,
so like I mentioned in my last post 'my current go-to makeup / what's in my makeup bag'  I found it hard/ near impossible (there I go with the dramatics again... shock) to pick out a favourite/go-to eyeshadow palette. I personally love eyeshadow and I think your eyeshadow should either be a statement to the makeup, coordinating with the lip or even just something to make it look like you have made much more effort than you have in the morning... and let's be fair it's probably mostly the last option.

Either way, eyeshadow for me is one of the things (as well as lipstick) that keeps 'everyday makeup' exciting, like picking out what eyeshadow look you are going to go with that day is so exciting to me... if you love eyeshadow hopefully you agree, or maybe I'm just really weird, IDK.

Anyways in this post I am going to talk through my favourite eyeshadow palettes, now don't get me wrong these aren't the only products I ever use and most of them are high-end so I am sorry for that, but if I am spending so much money on an eyeshadow palette I already know that I will love it so its pretty obvious that it will 99% of the time become a staple in my makeup collection. If you have absolutely any questions about these palettes leave them in the comments and will try my absolute best to answer them for you, and I would also love for you to also leave your favorites because I am ALWAYS on the hunt for new makeup finds!!

So the first palette is by a brand that is, in my opinion, one of the dominant brands when it comes to not only AMAZING eyeshadows but also to the pice, pigmentation, and quality of their shadows. That brand I am talking about is of course Morphe!!

So straight away I'm guessing the first Morphe palette that comes to mind is probably the ever famous 'Morphe 350' right? although I do have and love that palette, like I used it religiously when I first got my hands on it, however, I thought I would actually share a different palette with you today just in case, like me' natural just isn't your thing, and even if it is this palette would still work for you.  The palette I am talking about is the 'Morphe 35P plum palette' and its filled with a mixture of purple toned shades, and don't worry for those of you who like a natural approach, it's not all bright energetic purples, it also has a really good selection of natural shades. I love this palette, I have blue eyes so I love wearing purple on them anyway but this palette is especially amazing because Morphe NEVER FAILS!! I also love that there is a good ratio of shimmers and mattes, and honestly, overall I have not got one bad thing to say about this palette, I would definitely recommend it and especially for the fact that you get 35 eyeshadows for £23!! That to me sounds like an absolute no-brainer. Also, just a sidenote, if purple is not your thing and you prefer any other colour, I can almost guarantee morphe will have a palette that is suited to all your makeup needs.

Sticking with Morphe, do you remember just a second ago when I said about when I mention Morphe the first palette that I would imagine came to mind was the 350, if it wasn't I can almost guarantee it probably was the next palette that is on my list... of course its the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette. If you, for some reason, haven't heard about this palette, firstly how? and secondly, you are missing out!!

This palette was so hard to get your hands on for a while, and to be honest, the hype around it still hasn't died down, like I'm pretty sure it is still limited to one per person on Beauty Bay. This palette is an absolute dream for any makeup lover, if this is the only palette you ever bought I honestly believe it would actually still be enough, in terms of how versatile and broad the colour range is alongside the range of the types of shadows that are in this palette. So an overall breakdown of this palette is basically that, like the previous palette, it contains 35 shadows that are made up of some mattes, shimmers, satins, foils and glitters and has a wide mixture of shades and tones ranging from;  neutrals, pinks, oranges, reds, browns, blues, greens and even contains a black!! like what else could you ask for??

I genuinely love this palette and I would certainly recommend this product to anyone, it costs £37, which is a little bit more expensive than the previous palette, but considering not only that this palette is amazing, it is also a collaboration, not that that should in any way influence the price that the product is sold for, but my point is that considering how high-profile Jaclyn Hill is in the makeup industry, the price point could have easily been raised and the product still probably would have done well, therefore I personally think that says a lot about the brand and Jaclyn hill actually taking into consideration both points of making an amazing product but not letting the price mirror that, which I think we can all agree that we appreciate.

Now moving on, another one of my all time favourite palettes and a staple in my collection is the 'Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette'. Now when this palette first came out I heard mixed reviews, in which most people praised the shade range and pigmentation but criticised both the packaging and fall out of the product. Now I do agree with the whole fall out the issue, but at the same time this is not the first, and it definitely will not be the last palette to have to fall out from eyeshadows and is it the end of the world? certainly not. In regards to the packaging, the material of the outer packaging is really hard to describe, and yes I do agree with the fact that it does get dirty really easily especially if it gets put in a makeup bag alongside other products, such as foundations and things. However the actual product outweighs both those things for me, I love this palette. The colours are right up my street in terms of what I feel most comfortable wearing on a day-to-day basis and I honestly think the pigmentation is fab!! I also just want to take into consideration the brush that comes with the palette, now if you are anything like me, I'm going, to be honest, I don't usually use the brushes that come with the palettes, just because they are usually not great, however I have used this brush quite a few times and actually think it actually ok, like I would definitely use it, and its also really handy how it fits into the palette which makes it great for travelling.

This palette is on the more expensive side, it is £43 for 14 shades however if you want to splurge on an eyeshadow palette and these are the shades for you, I would definitely give this a try.

Now onto the last high-end product and that is the 'Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette'. Now I feel like no eyeshadow post would be complete without a Naked palette coming up, and don't get me wrong I did really like the original naked palettes, however, I did feel they are slightly overhyped, in terms of there being similarly toned palettes out there at a way cheaper price, and although I couldn't really fault the palettes I just feel they were kind of products that people bought for the hype that surrounded them. However that all changed when I saw the 'Naked heat palette' being released a while back. The first time I saw this palette I knew straight away I had to have it!! To look at it was soooo pretty and I knew, like I stated above, that as soon as I purchased this it would automatically earn its right as a statement product in my collection, and I wasn't wrong. I honestly love this product, I use it literally all the time and I honestly can't fault it. I love the shadows, the pigmentation is good and the packaging is fab. Overall an amazing product, would definitely highly recommend for £39.50.

And finally a drugstore palette has made its way into this high-end dominated post... which believe me annoys me to the core, I mean I wish there were more products in the drugstore like this next one.

The 'NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette' definitely lives up to the expectation its name portrays!! There are four of these products that each contain 16 shadows each, and I am in love with them. I own two at the minute but I will definitely be picking up the other two considering how great these are. To start, the colour range in the palettes are amazing, from the ones I own, the first is 'warm neutrals' and I honestly think everyone could do with having this in their collection. It is so versatile in terms of creating a light 'natural' eye, a gold shimmery eye or even a smoked out dramatic eye!! what more could you actually want from a palette?

The other palette is the complete opposite end of the spectrum, it is the 'brights' palette, and as the name suggests it is filled with vibrant and rainbow-esk colours, which makes this palette absolutely perfect for summer and especially festival season!!

Both palettes contain both mattes and shimmers and the thing I think I love most about these palettes (obviously apart from the shadows) is the fact that the packaging is square, I know... hold on let me explain. Have you ever tried to fit a rectangle palette into your makeup bag when travelling, tell me that is not a struggle. Well NYX has that problem locked down with these palettes, other brands definitely need to take note because if I can get a 16 shadow palette into my makeup bag without an issue, they are definitely doing something right. Another thing they are doing right by is my bank account... these palettes cost £16!! now £16 for 16 shadows obviously works out as £1 per shadow, I'm sorry like £1 for an eyeshadow, that is amazing, honestly, I would definitely check out NYX eyeshadows, or just their brand in general, they are definitely some of my faves!!
